It's a fairly major gotcha and worthy of pointing out over and above just linking to the thread, the way you posted the info suggests it's all good news when in actual fact that isn't always the case

All depends who does it, some body shops offer it as a whole service and will sort any cracks in paint should it need it. Of course other don't do this and would charge extra.

Yeah fair enough major ball ache is an understatement to be honest as its a LOT of work as the paint is highly likely to crack meaning all 4 wings will need repainting plus the doors blowing through. A simple arch roll would be cheap but its the labour and paint on top that costs.

The wheels the OP bought aren't my cup of tea to be honest so I'd rather sell them and get something that either fits properly over the BBS' but each to their own.

Speaking as someone who knows nothing (or actually cares) about miss-sized wheels going on an S, would it be possible to have the wheels machined i.e. some "meat" taken off the inside of the hub to adjust the offset?

That was the first thing I looked at but in that area, the wheel is only about 10mm thick so don't know if that's possible or not?

With some wheels, it is possible.

You may however end up with a really thin hub though, especially where the bolt recesses are.

As UF say, it's such a safety-critical area, why on earth would one f uck around with it? Get the correct BBS, Enkeis or Mugens/Rays. Or don't bother.

Do you know if they were brand new when he imported them? They are still extremely clean and not a single mark on them!
they were used when imported

Sorry to be blunt, but arch rolling is a bodge and a disaster waiting to happen. Some will disagree but they are wrong

I'd accept I'd bought the wrong wheels and not try and further bodge the car into fitting the wheels. Sell them on and buy some which fit as Nick just said. Sometimes you have to accept it, and this is speaking from experience!

From the look sof it your trying to save money by not getting some different wheels, rolling your arches may lead to bodywork needing doing and this is not going to be a cheap option in that case.

I have rolled my arches and am having sorted as part of a load of bodywork, if i was to go a cheaper route it would be to spend more on the wheels in the first place (if they did the ones i want in the fitment)

dont go into this without knowing what your doing, it will cost you a lot of money/ look terrible if you do it wrong.
