Default JDM Vin

I need the VIN number for the S I bought at the weekend. It's not on the V5C, and I won't receive the V5 for probably another few weeks. Within the engine bay is only the model and specification code (AP1-xxxxxx) and not the 6 digit serial. It's not on the windscreen either as I don't believe they do that in Japan.

Anyone else got any ideas? Is it stamped elsewhere on the car? I had a search but didn't really find too much other than a long thread about some bloke who couldn't work out whether his car was JDM, UKDM, or Belgium

Also, as far as callbacks go has anyone managed to have work done on an import such as the clutch replacement?

Thanks.

It's on the back of the engine bay.

Hmm, not on this car it isn't... It has AP1-xxxxxx stamped at the back of the engine bay but that's it. It should be longer than that, and there's no Vin plate as such, although a plate on the front near the rad has the same info and a fair amount of Japanese.

Ok, cheers. I was surprised it was so short.

I tried it on Honda.co.uk to see if I could register the car and it won't accept the VIN format. Any ideas, or is it best to just call Honda?

honda.co.uk won't recognise anything that wasn't sold within the uk.

Your vin should be something like
AP1-100####

the last digits representing the build number of the car i'd imagine.

That's pretty much how mine reads.
