I'm no expert, but that looks like an engine with the airbox removed to me. I hope they're replacing a bit more than that.

Hi Trish
Thanks for the update on Jensen, and I'm glad you have at least had decent customer service from Al. As mine is now in the danger zone of 6000-9000 miles, I will be listening out for the 'strange' noises but do not intend to drive any differently to how I drove my previous S or this one.
I will however keep an eye on the oil as this may be an indication of possible failure. As an aside, I had a complete engine rebuild on an MGB and I drove it for 100,000 miles before selling it with no further problems.
I bet you will run the new engine in VERY carefully - even more than the last one!

I don't have a pic of the Jenson underbelly
I think we are a little further on from the air box removed

Gaxxy, your wish is my command.
Latest pics of Jenson:
Sans heart
Bristol Honda workshop...looks cleaner than my house!
Dembo, I'd be very happy if the airbox somehow got swopped for a Mugen intake & exhaust but at this moment in time I'll settle for the new short engine & an intact Jenson!
