Lacquering my nice 6 spokes BBS
I've got my BBS sat in a pile in the garage waiting for Spring so I can try and avoid corrosion.
Would this be a good opportunity to laquer them (can you get spray laquer), or is that risking locking in any corrosive agents?
With them being JDM, and having seen how bad Honda's UK wheels are, I hold out little hope of them lasting a year without picking up corrosion.
Is there anything preventative I can do before fitting?

I annually removed & washed, polished and waxed my Golf 17" alloys (2 coats of polish) and they were fine for 3 years, until I didnt remove them for winter one year and corrosion set in...So if you have your originals still use them for Dec. to March & polish / wax the Jap versions when in your garage & impress the local schoolboys in the summer!!!

You must know me better than that PL
I have no idea about such things so didn't know if you could buy a can from Halfords that would do the job. There are a couple of small scuffs so if I was going to pay for pro laquering I might as well get them fully refurbed, which is a bit pointless at the moment for the condition they're in.
And jamriggsy, I'm assuming from your response and forum age that you don't know that the expected life of an OEM Honda alloy is about 6 months. My car has had 4 sets so far. The current set has been on for 3 years and look like they've been on for 15 years!

A few reasons why I'm not bothering - my current tyres only have 2-3000 miles left on them, and I'm getting a beater on 7th Jan to use until March.
That plus the weather and road-salt means they shall sit in the back of my garage for a while yet!

you can use spray can lacquer
but I'd do it now and leave it for as long as possible to give the lacquer time to harden
that's the biggest problem with a diy jpb - the coating is soft and can be damaged when the tyres are fitted
