I lacquered by bike frame I resprayed in the Spring - as Gad says, the lacquer is really soft (and quickly cracked on mine).

Neil,

You can get all you require from Halfords - big tins of lacquer, tack rags, 1200 or 1500 wet & dry, rubbing compound etc.

I've lacquered things in the house before.......never again, I was as high as a kite for ages; also Jill did not appreciate it.

The next time I sprayed in the garage and once touch dry (doesn't take long) brought them into the house to totally dry for a few days, much less smelly/messy.

If you don't have the tyres on you could bake them in the kitchen oven. just not at the same time as the Turkey.

I've got a can of two-pack laquer in the garage (german).

I've not used it, but it should be far harder than the Halfords crap.

Also, it will take ages to cure (like Gad say) in this weather.
