Default Look what I found!

Being a lovely day I decided to stop being a lazy sod and set about removing my old soft top with the glass rear window one I have. After 20 mins stuck in the back trying to remove screws etc like a contortionist I cut out the rear plastic window which was already torn and made things far easier, not as easy when the glass one is in situ though.

Anyway 1st I find some Cypriot money as expected since it spent a fair bit of its life over there then this.....

At first I thought it was a Japanese condom but turned out to be some sort of scented gel Once I got the rear shelf off I then found a rodent's nest!

And a place it had been using as a kitchen

Makes me wonder was it an English mouse or a Japanese or a Cypriot? I am leaning towards a Japanese one as I think that was it's air freshener maybe. Will get the new top on this week did this on my own a lot easier to take off than put back on and def will be a lot easier with another pair of hands.

A good time to clean and tidy up round there

You may as well give your rain rail a soak test to see if there are any splits/cracks etc.

Unclefester has some good info on sound proofing, another job I'd do while the car is in that state...something worth thinking about

Yup whilst you have access to that space, i'd use some decent sound deadening - you can get liquid form paint on stuff that is pretty good, usually a pain due to the roof and shelf being in the way but right now neither of those are issues

Tips - preparation is key, you need all the loose stuff out, get the metal areas you want to cover nice and clean.

Make sure you don't cover any bolts or brackets you might need - don't seal the fuel pump cover in etc

Other than that ..... have fun

Good time to check the fuel filter sock too?

Excellent picture of the roof drain and pipe people keep finding blocked (water in boot)!

Can I store that pic for future ref on here only?

Steve, IIRC, you mentioned something not long ago about a piece of rubber or plastic that was missing, which meant that water leaked into your boot.

Would you be able to point out on the photos as to where this was please?
