My MY03 car does seem to go through quite a lot of oil, i've already had to top it up twice and dont do many miles at all, should I be worried?

Also, in regards to the right oil, i've been using a 5W 40 Fully synthetic, is that the best sort or does everyone have their own preferences?

Thanks, yeah just found that

Sound like my car probably had the recall, or its been going nearly 10 years without blowing up yet. Will double check with honda dealer when it comes out of hibernation

i see i posted in there - looks like the last guy in Gibraltar was the only one to report an actual issue. seems my post in that thread was right (i did a fair bit of research to see if my JDM 00 was affected prior to posting) - hotter climates primarily have the issue.

So can you buy a Honda warranty as a stand alone item then even if you buy a car privately for example?!? If that's the case it sounds superb.

Good to know few reported problems with 04 age cars, I did start to worry and after seeing what is for me the perfect example of what I was after I was a little sad.

Doesn't sound as terrifying as I first thought.

Thanks chaps

Si
Yes you can, especially if it has a full Honda Service History. Give a few dealers a call to get a quote. There's a few who post here (Dave at Brayley, Hemel Hempstead being one) who usually do good deals on Extended Warranties.

Do you happen to know how to contact Dave at Brayley through forum but couldn't see anything??

I've had my 06 for nearly 2 years (8k) and never had to put one drop of oil in it...

My s2k has been the most reliable car I've ever owned!
