Default Loose penny noise

My S seems to have developed a noise when cold that sounds like a loose coin rattling around the engine - anyone have any ideas on this ?

Chris
could it be that the cold snap is just upon us and you are hearing sounds that you'd 'forgot' about?

You know how engines are noisier when cold, thicker oil, etc - maybe this is it?

Your description sounds like maybe tappet rattle or something siimilar - are you totally sure it wasn't there before (last winter)? Just you had forgot.

(Maybe you've played GTA too much and think thats how a car should sound )

It sounds like what I'd imagine tappet sound would sound like

maybe it's your tappets.

Or some loose pennies in your secret compartment

Aural diagnosis via internet.

Now there's a concept!

Can you post a picture of the noise?
