Marios, I see you met some J's racing people recently?

Someone is browsing the official J's Racing thread?

Yes, I met Junichi when he came over to Greece. We took him for a spin on track.

He got dizzy.
Yes, he has enjoyed his stay. We got some useful information from him and he answered a lot of questions we had. At some point he made few calls to his Japanese engineers to resolve couple of issues.
He was very impressed that the weather was sizzling hot that day. Very sunny indeed. They usually got a lot of humidity in Japan.

I will sum up few things that he told us that day. Please note that those apply mostly for an S2000 used on track.
ENGINE OIL
1) Engine oil change every 4000 km (about 2485 miles).
2) Strictly 100% use of synthetic oil that will give you sufficient lubrication even when the oil will reach a temperature of 150 degrees Celsius.
3) Oil level not on maximum, but on three quarters (every engine oil change with filter about 4.5 liters).
4) Very frequent oil level check.
5) An Oil Catch can should be installed and also the installation of a baffled oil pan is required. Cams & cams’ chain draws significant amount of oil.
6) Timing Chain Tensioner will begin that annoying sound, if the engine oil is not changed frequently, or if the oil level drops to minimum or less. Once you hear that sound, you will continue to hear it more often even if you add oil.
SETUP
1) Maximum tyre width 225 in the front and 255 in the rear.
2) For track days he recommends 16kg spring rate front and to the rear.
3) 3D rear wing really works above 60km/h (about 37miles/hr). It’s a must for track.
TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL
1) Transmission inspection and probably a necessary differential rebuild every three years.
