Default Mileage reader/counter

Hi all,

I'm new to this site so bare with me if my question seems a little weird!
I own a 1999 Japanese import S2000 which I have had for about 2 years. My question is regarding the mileage on my clock. I understand that the counter reads in Kilometres, but only up to a certain point. Is anyone familiar with this? I just want to find out the true mileage my car has done. At the moment it reads 69000. But is this 69000 kilometres or miles??

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael

you can adjust the speedo between kilometers and miles...

if the speedo is in kilometers the mileage is read in kilometers
if the speedo is in miles the mileage is read in miles

Ok thanks. Actually, there is a small sticker on the dash under the speedo saying "mileage converted to miles at 51000km", so I guess this was the point when the car arrived in the UK from Japan.

Anyway, thanks for confirming that for me blue, appreciate it.

I've been told you can't switch between miles and Km on the JDMs.

I think it depends on the importer. If they do it the lazy way, you get stuck with a mixture of miles and Kms.
