Just watched the vid. The guy can clearly drive, although i seem to recall passing him. No video evidence of that though.
LG, your driving has definitely improved, pretty good lines. A bit more right foot and a brave pill is all that's needed I think.

I reiterate that much of the improvement is down to Howard, the instructor. I think so far I've spent
Statement of Fact:
At Silverstone National Circuit in October 2006, the Stock S2000s were getting around Luffield corners onto the start/finish straight at about 55mph max speed.
AndyMX5's MODDED MX5 was managing 59mph around the same corner, but didn't have the acceleration to reach top speeds. He had Eagle F1s (grippier) and adjustable gas shocks set to setting 2 of 4 (something like 60% stiffer).
This observation was made by the instructor who sceptically mocked Andy's MX5 when he first sat in it, then revised his opinion after the first lap and seeing its handling.
So in theory, yes, it can happen; but unlikely on stock cars, and unlikely on anything with any type of fast straight on it.
Oh, and the MaX5 racers were rubbishly slow!

It's quite nice when bigoted instructors have their view changed!
The MX and S are theoretically both great track cars, let down by their relatively poor power to weight ratios. Well, they're practically the same design, separated by a decade.
I wonder what speed the late PJL's beastie would go through Luffield, for the sake of comparison?

to be fair - that MX-5 on saturday was being pedalled by Richard of BLiNK Motorsport -he's done more track days than I can remember over the last decade so should know what he's doing!
There is a fantastic debate going on on the mx5nutz forum, no arguing just an interesting debate. There are people on there who have had a go of S2000's on a track and literally couldn't keep it on the tarmac, they were "off everywhere" apparently!
It was posted here https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=551562 I'm trying to register to show my video and also provide the information about BLiNK Motorsport Jonny has kindly furnished.
