Been a while since a update.

So I now have a quaife LSD and a whole new r200 diff with a different final drive. It is now geared for 204mph at 9200rpm. As the output shafts are different I had to make new adapter plates. I only have one picture as I was too excited to take anymore. This is after the first op as the other side needed machining

Two weeks ago I went and picked this up

Built by speed factory, still a 2.0l 9:1 comp ratio. Good for upto 11000rpm and 1200hp

Terry(turnover) also showed me other parts he had and after a couple of messages I paid him some more money yesterday for a Magnus inlet manifold like this but polished

Also brought a whole supertech valve spring, retainers, valves and guides kit from him for the new head which I've brought off aj.

The plan was to slowly build this up over Xmas but that has changed.

I fitted the new turbo camshafts a few weeks ago to test, had to sort out a few fitment issues but there was still some major underlying design issues. They made power only at the top end and lost elsewhere. We know what we think is needed now but it came at great cost. Driving to work yesterday to take the cams out and do some other test but I was too late the engine gave way. We are sure it was the cams fault as all data logs are good and as they use to be. I need to pull the head off to inspect, we are presuming some sort of valve train failure. Engine all of a sudden went into massive knock at 4k the motec pulled timing and added fuel but what ever it was doing inside was unstoppable. Anyway the costs of my stock engine are being covered so means it's full speed ahead with the new build. Only a couple more bits to get and then I will be handing the whole lot over to Gary@APT to assemble and fit.

Once run in I will be aiming for a couple bar boost so hoping for 600bhp, if the turbo can't do it then I will go up in size, maybe some nos to help spin up the turbo for sprint events. Maybe do some top speed events next year also.

I forgot to say I did say to Gary about going larger in the turbo but he thinks I need to be careful I don't end up with a drag engine so that's why I am sticking with the gt3076hta if we need to we will use the 1.06ar housing to free it up a bit at the top end. Might lose 100rpm spool but when asking for 2 bar boost it will come on so hard it will hardly be noticeable

Looking forward to the results, shame about your stock engine:-((
I was tempted to get an inlet for mine, but in all honesty the gains are probably going to be minimal on my setup(17-18psi)
I reckon your s would be a great contender for totb, and seen as it's only down the road from me...I could have a good look at your car haha

There are some seriously powerful cars there. Gary does it each year but hates it as something always breaks but this year he couldn't get traction on the surface. In it's class it would be ok but really it needs glens gearbox to compete.

What does he drive at totb?evo?i think the evo's are the best cars for an event like that.good all rounder.

But if you do go next year, then you know what you need to improve on for the following year haha
I would have thought it would do ok in the handling/top speed event.

Yeah full race spec evo. About 800bhp. They are good all rounders but top speed they aren't so good as most are geared low.

We will see need to know what the rules are not sure if you need a full cage.

No cage required as far as I'm aware.

I've been considering the time attack event.

So a small update:

I have had to make a adapter for the new inlet manifold so the Bosch DBW throttle fitted, I will remake it again next year so it looks better

Just a test fit of the manifold on a spare head.

New adapter with port match.

Decided to remove the high powered Kenlowe fan as I don't need it with the new rad, so fitted a 12" slimline fan

Then I've had it painted mat black as that is supposed to be more efficient at cooling the radiator.

The head is back from being machined and the engine is ready to be assembled, it is going to be 2044cc 9.5:1 cr engine so it should spool the turbo up pretty quick. Top end might be restricted because of the turbo but we will see. Still hoping for 600bhp at what ever revs its takes as long as it's not over 10k. Probably around 1.8-2.0 bar boost and hopefully around 4k rpm for full spool

So that's it for now hoping for the engine to be together and in the car by the end of next week or week beginning the 13th.
