Sorry about another oil thread, but i picked up my s in Jan and found out they drink oil. washed my car this morning and checked oil ect and now oil appears very low just on one x.

Sounds daft but i have never put oil in a car before, so my main question is if i buy oil can i jus put it in, or can it not be mixed with the oil in there already?

Also i have seen loads of threads about what oil and different people say different things, i just want some oil to do the job, what should i get, and how much should it cost from like halfords?

What's in there the moment?

 

Honda recommends a 5W 40 and you have 2 options from Halfords. They have their own brand 5w 40 which is a bit of an unknown quantity. Your other option is Castrol Edge 5W 40 Turbo Diesel which a lot of people use including myself. Don't worry about the Turbo Diesel moniker, its just a marketing thing.

i do not no what oil is in there at the moment because i never asked the dealer oops, and cheers wobbly answered everything i needed to know. ill pop down halfords now

Hope I helped. There is wealth of info on here about oil and quite a few guys who really know their stuff. If it came serviced from a Honda dealer then there is a good chance it has 5W 40 in it all ready.

 

It has had a FHSH but been halfords and all topped up. Cheers mate
