Default New immobiliser unit

Has anyone had a new immobiliser unit replaced in their car?

There's a problem with my immobiliser (no green key shows up on dash and car does not start) - the car is currently with Honda and will be looked at on Tuesday. It was an intermittent problem that got worse at the pub on Friday so RAC called out.

They said that a replacement would cost

get a quote from a car alarm installer for a stand alone CAT 1 imobiliser
I am sure you could get one installed for much less, if its built into the Honda EMS then you could still get change from a cat 1 imobiliser and a spoon EMS

Thanks - could anyone recommend a place in West Kent? I found a place called Vehicle Technology Systems in Sevenoaks that I'll call. They do the Clifford Cat 1 G5 unit which seems to be real high spec.
