Default New Toyo's out

Taking car to Wheel Worx in Mansfield tomorrow for a couple of new rear corners (thanks Roger) and decided to try the new Toyo T1R's, brand new tread pattern that's supposed to be the biz so we'll see.

No complaints with the Bridgestones, just that they can't get em (?) and i had Toyo's on a new Rav 4 i had and got 44k out of them on four wheel drive.

"Can't get 'em" is the sort of gobshite one expects from most tyre places.

Try Event mobile tyres. (S2KUK link)

The T1-Rs have been out a while and are excellent.

The sidewalls are quite soft, so I'd imagine they're horrible mixed with 'Stones!

(Also remember you need 245s at the rear for non-S-02s!)

Thanks... just checked and they're 245/40/17 (MY04) so hopefully get em on and give em a spin.

I'll let you know how they perform... i'm unsure about the T1R's being new, he probabley meant the tread pattern maybe.

I had them in 18" but alas they got stolen

I therefore dont know what they behaved like. I did have the T1-S on all my scoobs and they were great apart from outer edge wear. I believe the T1-R has resolved the issue of wear to some extent on that part of the tyre.

New-ish tread pattern. Had 'em on the Civic for nearly a year, IIRC.

I noticed Hellfrauds have a load of T1-Ss as a special offer on their chavalloy packages for the Barry Boys.

Oh, the ignominy!

I currently run Toyo T1-S's with 18" OZ Superleggera alloys. Considering a move to T1-R as per a separate thread.

My current tyres have the following "codes":

Rear: 255-35ZR18 90Y
Front: 225-40ZR18 88W

Does this mean that I need 255-35-18 on the rear and 225-40-18 on the front? (no idea what ZR etc. means!). Also, do these sizes sound right?........some different sizes are quoted in this thread but assume mine will differ because of the 18" wheels!. They were put on by Southern Counties Honda when I bought the alloys so I'm assuming they are correct!!!.

Will also be interested in any initial thoughts on the T1-R's!.

ZR is the speed rating. IIRC that particluar rating means the tyre is good for 150mph+

The Rav is famously light in tyres for some reason.

My dad has got similar mileage out of his, and my Aunt actually complained to the garage when she needed new tyres on her RAV.............. at 55k miles (Don't think she realised tyres are a consumable)
