Default The "No major problems with the S" thread

all

As some might know we have ordered a MINI for Gi and having read their forums I thought twice about getting one. It seemed that the car would always breakdown and someone then pointed me to a link on that site where owners wrote about their cars and what if any problems they have had. It is natural only to hear about problems on sites like ours so this is our chance to write about how reliable the S also is.

So in the same spirit I would like to start this thread and would like you to contribute too about your car if it has been mainly trouble free. Please put down the year & mileage of your car so other potential owners can have confidence in the cars.

This are mine:

Model Year (MY) 02 Berlina Black 21000 miles not one single problem except hardtop adjustment which after three attempts was perfect.

MY04 Ascari Red 16000 miles, two track days, 1 training day, 4000 miles around Europe and not one single problem.

Leaky seals (replaced), absolutely shite gearbox when cold (par for the course), alarm going off on ignition start in moist conditions. Apart from that nothing major.

MY02 - born 21/12/01 - coming up to 21k miles.
Flat battery once - my fault.
Remote on audio didn't work - took me 10 months to discover that. Card change.
So - no problems - lot of fun.

EDIT: Hey - i've got 5 stars
