Default OBD2 Readers

I want one.

I was looking at the D950...

I'm looking to pay up to £30 for one but not sure which one.

Mine's a 1999 'S' and I don't have one of those new fangled iphone thingies.

Whichever one you get remember to deactivate the immobiliser before plugging in - else you'll get a "can't connect" error

I have an Ultragauge OBDII reader installed in my drivers side sun-visor.

That's ultra cool! I got a 30quid eBay one and it sits in the secret compartment. Since I got it, it's been used on 4 cars! Well worth the money.

That is very cool indeed. I have the iPhone one which is good but I like this use of an otherwise useless sun visor! How big is the attachment in the footwell? Is it discrete?

Thanks for the positive comments guys

It was a freaky coincidence that the Ultragauge just happens to be a perfect match to the size of the passenger mirror, so I bought a USDM passenger sunvisor and fitted it as my drivers side.

CynicG - The Ultragauge unit is fully contained in the sunvisor the only thing I had to do was extend the cable, and carefully route it through the hollowed out visor plug and headlining/pillar.

At the end of the cable is the plug, no other hardware is needed

this is so cool - if it really is plug and play I might well have to get one (and a euro / US sun visor)

I was originally looking at the OBDLInk MX but it is not iphone compatible

I'm claiming full credit for that idea.
