Default Odd Air Con Problem

Strange air con prob here, unless I'm imagining it? When the car is moving (or stationary maybe with revs over certain amount) aircon is ice cold - but I'm getting the impression that when you come to a halt this isn't as cold or maybe not at all. Is there a drive belt that needs replacing/re-torqueing or a air con clutch problem that would happen engine speed wise related?

I'm sure its been like this for years and it had the air con refilled couple of years back, so not related to that either. (Or is it working fine and I'm expecting too much especially with the roof down)

Ta

Matt

Funny you should say that mine seems to do something similar but I attributed it to the fact I've not got around to getting it vacuumed down and recharged.

Mine also does this! It also makes a hissing type sound under load sometimes! :-(

They are fairly easy to change and can be picked up second hand for about £50.

£600 Think they're having a laugh there... Does your air con not work at all?

Yeah, I told Honda I wouldn't be using them to sort the issue. I haven't started looking into parts myself but it's something I will do myself eventually.

My air con works fine. I just have a pretty loud rattle coming from the unit. I will sort it myself when I can spare the time.

Had another quick look at this. Condensor fan is working (although I did see it switch off once whilst idling).

If stationary, and you increase the revs to ~1500rpm, you can definitely feel the fan air stronger and cooler in the car, but I don't seem to hear anything different (ie compressor/fans changing) ??
