Default ordering tyres

Hi I'm trying to order tyres 215/45/17 bridestone, I can find the mz's in the rear tyres but not the front, some are just 215/45R17 BRIDGESTONE RE050 87W then others are 215/45R17 BRIDGESTONE RE050 AZ 87W. Does anyone know the difference between these codes?

I am looking on www.tyresunlimited.co.uk all four come to £421 delivered unfitted.

MZ = Honda S2000

Other letters mean it is designed for other cars. eg Subaru, Porsche etc etc
Can't recall what AZ is.
Get the MZ's if you can.

MZ's are still available in the rear fitment, just scarce in the fronts.

If in doubt just go for a generic fit (ie RE050 with no AZ, CZ etc on the end).

You are both right.

Bridgestone stopped making the MZ some time ago.

We are just consuming what is left in the supply chain.

Black Circles (as I KEEP saying) have them in stock at £112.05 each fronts delivered.
These are listed as "(Honda)" and are indeed MZ, I bought some recently.

Good price on a set there though, but shame they are not the MZ.

Steve.

I think it was the August version of this thread where there was an email from Bridgestone along the line, the front MZ is being discontinued and the rear still being made.

As Steve says you can get both front and rear from BC (and others) and have them fitted at your choice of fitter. I'm lazy and opted for Goddyear Assyms all round supplied and fitted at my house by Event.

^ Good Intel, thanks.

Think I'll keep the 245 up front permanently, makes life even easier!
