Default Passenger window switch

I've tried searching for an exsting thread on this, but haven't found anything too relevant so far, so here goes...

I'd like to change the passenger window switch (on the driver's side) to an 'auto' switch (like the one I have for the driver's window). I have asked Honda whether I could simply swap the existing switch for an 'auto' one and they say it cannot be done because of the electronics involved in the wiring. As I'm not a big fan of 'it can't be done', has anyone done this or at least know anything about the wiring to advise whether it is possible with the right 'electronic stuff'?

It is great to open/close the driver's window with a quick flick of the switch, but what's the point if you have to hold the switch for the passenger window?

Any ideas appreciated!

I don't have the answer - I'm pretty much guessing, but I suspect the advice you were given that the wiring is different is correct.

(The passanger's window switch is a three way momentary rocker switch, whereas the driver's one is a five way momentary and maintained rocker. Because of the two extra outputs of the 5 way one, I think it is likely that the wiring will include an extra couple of relays connecting the switch circuit to the motor circuit.)

I could be way wrong, but if I'm right, then it won't be a simple case of swapping the switch, but a rather more fiddly case of rewiring the circuitry, which I doubt is in the repertoire of your average honda dealer.

Let us know if you find an easy solution though, because it would be quite useful.

Carry some blue-tack & jam it in when you press. Else with a soft top down, holding down the roof down switch when the windows are up will lower them both!

Just say if I'm not being helpful....I'm at work @ 6am so maybe I'm being devilish at this time!

You need to locate and purchase an "Autoloc" electronic device. This is a module that is added to the window wiring the will permit auto UP and DOWN.
A board user named "EMC2" put me onto this and I have it installed in my car but for me, it is to fix the autodown of my driver's window that stopped working. For you, it can be used for your passenger window.
Here is some info that might be of interest to you:
