)From what I remember from ages back, Don is pretty well booked in advance. Did he supply you with a list of days he was doing?
Cheers,
Andy

Hi Guys
I did the Don Palmer day at Bruntingthorpe and can highly recommend it. I would however suggest that if you have some old tyres that you take them with you. There is a tyre shop there that will swap the tyres over before and after the training for you (costs about 20 quid to me recollection). Bruntingthorpe is tuff on tyres or is it that the driving is tuff on the tyres.... if it is wet then it is no problem. Don does not have the facility to wet the track so if dry...knackered tyres.
Another course I have looked at is Steve Smith of Total Control ( www.tc7.co.uk) he has worked with Honda in producing driver training days etc and has experience with the S2000.
His suggested day for me was....
Re Millbrook Day, I normally meet the client at a convenient location and then we make our way to Millbrook, using the time to assess road techniques and to establish the training objectives of the client. Day starts at 0900 hrs and ends at approx 1700 hrs.
On arrival at Millbrook the booking in procedure takes about 10 - 15 minutes and then we are on the proving ground for four driving hours. The facilities available to us are as follows;-
Hill Route - Imagine a section of the Swiss Alps has been flown over and dropped in Bedfordshire, it is superb for practise of positioning, braking , steering and use of the dynamics of the vehicle. Also it encourages cross viewing of bends, planning and anticipation to develop a smooth safe but quick style.
Mile Straights - As the name implies two parallel straights just over a mile long. Ideal for high speed braking exercises and 'Heel Toe' Heel and Toe gear changes are considered by some to be a complicated and almost impossible technique. however when broken down into user friendly sections it can be mastered. The advantages in an S2000 are tremendous because the car can be smoothly kept in the power band.
High Speed Circuit - A two mile circular track with 5 lanes and no speed limits. It is possible to V-Max the car in safety and of course experience the handling of the car under braking from it's top speed.
Outer Handling Circuit - One of the most demanding, but thrilling circuits I have ever driven. Designed to test the cars abilities it has off camber corners, crests and sharp changes in direction. A superb way to test the new skills developed during the earlier sessions.
Millbrook safety regulations require the use of crash helmets, so if you have one please bring it along, if not I do have a limited number of helmets.
Insurance of your vehicle on the proving ground is your responsibility, but most companies are fine when they are told it is a structured training day at a proving ground not a 'Track Day'.
The cost of the Millbrook Day, including 4 hours at Millbrook, lunch and the on road sessions is

-Brian.
Thats very reasonable indeed Andy but both lacations are a pain form me. I could probably stay over at my mothers in Croxley Green which would ease the pain for the Essex event. Do you know if these are run at weekends. BTW, I've emailed DP about the Caterham, still waiting for a response.
The courses are run weekdays and weekends. The www.1stlotus.com site has lots of info.
If the costs are as advertised for the track instruction then hiring the Lotus looks a good route. However, as the course is tailored to your requirements I would probably go down the route of 1/2 Elise 1/2 Impreza....
Their mailer is bouncing the mails at the moment. I'll give them a buz when I've got a moment later.
