permagard
just having a look and it seems like permagard is a heavier application of a material similar to supagard ie a thin protective polymer film. It figures for permagard to be thicker as it is applied to boats and aircraft too - and they typically take more of a hammering than an average car.
Post speaks for itself really?
Am thinking about getting my S2k done when I (finally) pick it up!!
Any of you guys heard of it or used it?

Personally, I would steer clear. Instead, invest in some decent glaze, sealant and wax (and some quality microfibre cloths).
Your car will love you for it (trust me
)
Have a look at Rahula's website for more details

I look after my car! I wax & wash it regularly, what do I need permagard for?
Then our advice to you is STOP! unless you are extremely careful and enjoy wasting your time, you probably do more damage to your paint by regular waxing than not. Wax is soft and non-durable. During the day it heats up and softens, later cooling & re-hardening, trapping all the grime and industrial fallout picked up during the day in its surface.
you polishers are ruining your cars.

I also know the main man Mike Perry pretty well now as we have had 6 of our cars done so drop my name when/if you get it done and he will treat you well...
My car came out like this:

That was back in January, it lasted strongly for about 4 months but I think ill need my next service treatment soon as the water isnt beading off as well as it was...
Needless to say it is a fantastic product and was absolutely blinding on my brothers 360 aswell, REALLY brought the colour back on that one:

On my car it left a shine as good as any 24 hour waxathon and eliminated I would say 97% of all the swirls (mine had bad ones), Mike reckons afer the next service treatment that might be a 100%
The wax lot will moan at you and say its bollocks but it really isnt and if you want to spend more car enjoying your car on the road and not obsessing over it in a driveway then I couldnt recommend it enough
Do a search and you should find my original, more in depth comments...I know soulcrew has opened a can of worms with his comments but please lets not let this thread degenerate into yet another one about car detailing, im sure the original poster is more then aware of the DIY products but he has asked about permagard and I have shared my experience.
