Guys - its all in the comment about "service treatment". Perma -thingy your car by all means but if you don't have regular "service treatments" it will go dull with time.

Now if you read any of our tame polishers web sites and comments you will see that effectively they recommend "service treatments" every 6 months or so.

In the case of the polishers this is usually along the lines of:

Wash -Clay -Polish -Glaze -Wax

Which they do themselves using expensixe gloop and something called a Porter -whatsits

The reason for "service treatments" is that we live in an overcorwded and industrialised environment and crap falls out of the sky and bonds itself onto your car. Said crap needs to be removed somehow every few months or the paint will suffer. Washing gets most but not all of it so it builds up over time.

Summary either do it yourself - v satisfying or have Perma- thingy or that bloke that charges

I Supagaurded our Alfa when it was new. That comes with a kit containing a polymer sealant and according to the instructions you should polish your car with this every 3 months. Did it for the first 2 years. Car looked ok but not that shiny and quite a few swirls. Permagaurd is clearly far superior to this.

Supagard is a complete pile of poo... we had it on our 535 from new last year and the finish felt course, the paintwork looked dull and water only beaded for about 1 month

Tbh I think the crapness of that product is why many people are so sceptical about Permagard...

Nope, you wash it with the permagard shampoo they provide and chamois it and thats it, it comes out looking like the pics above!

The reason I say my service treatment is due is that its not coming out looking quite so mirror like anymore... Still very shiney though!
