Default Poorly S2000

Had a whine for the last three months and after using the search I found a few people have had this. To see if it would help I did a Diff oil change but with no change, Now there is a rumble sound like a wheel bearing. Had my mate who is a Honda Mechanic have a listen and he thinks it's the diff bearings. Any one else had this?

what mileage?

i have a rear bearing gone, NSR.. it makes a sound like something chaffing.. difficult to describe but really only noticeable above 40mph. i'd be tempted to get a diff from a front end smashed car

bad luck fella

When ya changed the diff fluid, how did it look? You'd think there would be some evidence of a bad diff bearing I had a wheel bearing go out and it was more noticeable at low speeds, sounded like a warped rotor.

Right had my Honda friend have a look. He is sure that the Gearbox bearings are shot, but he cant be sure if the diff has a problem too or the sound going down the transmission from the gearbox.

Anyway the car's done 83k now so a new clutch too as we got it apart.

Anyone got a diff??

Stefan, sorry I haven't replied to your PM yet, been mega busy. I don't have a diff for sale, but I have swapped with a FD (4.625). Depends what you are going to do with the car and what you want out of it if you want to shorten the final drive.

Well, We will be dropping the gearbox, clutch and Dff off the car in the next week or two. We are sure that some bearings are shot somewhere, and having done 84k on the clutch it's probably a good time to change it.

In regards to the Diff, i Have been thinking of doing the final gear but wanted to experience it first and as I might need to change it now, i guess it's a good time.
