Praise
Back in summer, on a reasonably decent day when it was dry and the outside temperature was good, I stopped at my local garage to fill up. It was 7.30am and the top was down. Suddenly, I was greeted with a "nice car mate" comment from a bloke who jumped out of a Vectra. He wasn't taking the p*ss, as he bombarded me with questions. I can't explain the warm and fuzzy feeling this gave me. It made my day.
Aside from being asked by my best mate's brother whether I'd like to sell the car to him (he's asked twice and isn't short of a bob or two), I'd become oblivious to this car's appeal this winter, due to it being a daily driver and me getting used to it being as such.
Anyway, to cut a long story, I offered to pick up my sister in the centre of Manchester last Saturday to take her home, as her husband had left early to tend to my poorly nephew. I'd just jet-washed the beast and the HT was on. As we drove down the very busy Xmas shopper streets, she kept saying "I can't believe how many people keep looking at this car!". Warm and fuzzy feeling Mk.2.
Has anyone else experienced this recently?

I got the opposite tonight. Roof down and AC/DC on the stereo on the way to my girlfriend's house, only to get "look at that Wayne Kerr with the roof down!"
Several times, in several different places.

I got a "nice car - looks like a shark" while filling up my (white) CRZ this week. Not quite the same I know but my S2 is wrapped up in the garage waiting for some bits to be fitted - hood liner, heated seat kit, brodit clip etc then get wheels returned in the new year.
Left mine in a car park when I came back to it there was a note on the screen I thought I'd been hit but nope once I read it someone was saying it was stunning and if I ever wanted to sell it call him . Felt nice I must admit
