Default Problems with the Dash board!

This has to be the most stressful thing I have done- Importing an s2000. Its been problem after problem.

The latest issue;
They have made the change on the dash to KPH to MPH, after testing they have told that some how they have fried the dash . They have said that they will replace the dash free of charge (dam bloody right as well) however they have said that they will get one from a breakers (not to sure if I'm convinced about this). I'm a bit concerned that if it comes off a newer model there may have been changes to the dash and it may not function correctly. They have assured me that it will work but I wanted to post this to see what you all think about it. If they pull the dash out of a newer model than mine lets say a MY02 will their be any issues, things not work, cables different. Any info (and a Pint of Kronemburg Blanc if any one has one spare) would be VERY appreciated. Only good thing to come out of this is that I will have the ability to change my dash from MPH to KPH now

Thanks all.

Word of advice- don't import a car, way to much hassle.

AFAIK there is no difference a MY00 dash should be exactly the same as a MY03. It was changed in 04.

Whether there's a difference between a Jap dash and a UK dash (apart from the speedo units) I don't know, but I don't see why there would be.

On the plus side your new dash should be able to switch between mph and kph using the button.

I had a very handy mph to kph converter built into my 99 JDM dash, look at the pics on the Le Mans thread from lasy year, it'll save you a fortune and the wiring will never burn out

Steve54- Its not a new car its the same age as yours.

AquilaEagle - Yes things happen in 3's but in my case it seems more like 3000's! Hopefully this will be the last of all the shite I've gone through but hey, wouldn't be surprised if its not.
