I thought so. They advised differently.

I suspect they were bullshitting.
I vaguely recall a case involving a supermarket car park which was treated as if it were a public road for the purposes of the court seeking to ensure justice was done. Therefore I would not be completely confident abotu the police being unable to take action.

In court the best they could practically achieve (even with a fur up their arse) would be driving without due care and attention (unless you omitted telling us about that granny you ran over )

Yes thanks. A lovely ham and mozzarella baguette.

The smell of bacon had given me an appetite!

With respect to some of the comments above, any argument I had would not have been regarding the fact that the road was private or public.

It would have been that I was not driving dangerously... or with out due care and attention for that matter.

In fact a second gear power slide requires more care and attention if anything!

Whats more dangerous; StrongbowLad drifting an empty roundabout at 20mph or a cop driving at 155mph down a motorway. That IS a tough one??! We need some bloody consistency in this country - I'd happily defend a dangerous driving charge here. You'll lose but you should still make the stand. Remember you only get off with a crime if you have actually stabbed, raped or stolen from someone. If you have committed a driving crime, said the n-word on telly or have the look of a terrorist about you then you better go to court alread lubed up.
