Default Rain-x

Bought this nearly 2 years ago for my S2000 but never got the car clean enough to use it!! So for the first time on my Golf family car it got used in anger...then it promptly rained when I was out...hilarious, not using the wipers on the move just watching the water stream up the windscreen at 30mph speeds or more, lovely beading when stationary for it to run off... I think it should be standard on all cars....put bosch out of business! Good for avoiding unmovable fly deposits as well apparently.!

Their antifog stuff is great for the inside too and worth getting the screen wash aditive to keep the front coating topped up. Well worth it though on the S it did tend to run the water round the edges faster if you had the top down in a light shower.

Just wait for drizzle and spray in the winter, I liked it in normal rain, but it screws up your wipers in the drizzle etc

Hi Paul

I'm a big convert to Rainx, have used it on all my cars but never had any smearing, winter or summer.

Shame you don't still have your S, MM1 looks good this year

It's ok as long as you cut the glass between applications, which takes a while and is a total PITA. Still you can't argue with the results

I use a similar product which is easier to apply (Rain Wizard) and never had any problems with it. Great for bugs - all you need to remove them is a damp chamois and a gentle rub - piece of cake

I agree about the bugs, Euan.

New Bosch wipers eliminated any smearing.

The biggest problem I had at first was remembering to watch the road ahead and not the water droplets!

frightens the $hit out of passengers, especially after you've spent the previous hour telling them how likely the car is to swap ends in at the first sniff of moisture.

Rain-X, Pen and I laughed our faces off the first time.

Just tried 303 Protect stuff, just as good and it doesn't smear like Rain X. Just let it dry out well before buffing.
