Evening all.

My S is suffering with a bit of the old orange metal cancer

I'm going to get it all cut out and fresh metal welded in.

I've asked a friend who works in Honda, £450 per rear quarter, cheap I know, but devastatingly expensive for some arches.

So I was wondering, if anyone has had much luck matching them off another car at all? ie another manufacturer?

Failing that, will just have to wait til a low miler smashed S comes up for breaking and cut them off.

What about Ron's shell Tom? That whole car was in devastatingly good condition before its serviceable life came to an abrupt end.

This is true sir. Forgot about that one. I'd have to have a nose at them first like.

I'd want as low miler arches as possible.

I bought a complete rear half of an S2000 from a guy on ebay last year and had the quarter panels removed and stitched on to my car. You wouldn't be able to tell that they are not original.

Also, at the moment I have a bare shell with two good rear quarters on it that is up for sale. I'd be looking at around £480 for it if you are interested.

What have you guys done if the inner arch has started to go? Can they be patched up too?

Mine are going at the bottom, been quoted £480 from a local bodyshop

Check your hood drains - when blocked, the sills here rust.

God a few years ago mentioning rust here was akin to mentioning the anti Christ , and now there are two threads deadicated to shush ! Not to be mentioned iron oxide !

Horrid stuff.

But I like to look on it as a positive aspect and refer to mine as a lightweight edition, always shedding weight
