Default Rear damage !!

Argggggggg...!!!!!!!!!!!! F*&^*KIN B4$t*&%&%S

I went to wash my car this morning and some c___t has gone into me... I noticed the round tow hole cover was haging loose so I went to take a closer look and there is a BIG gouge in the plastic rear panel, and it was slightly popped out. There is also some sort of crack in the light cluster... it looks like some one has reversed into me and then just driven off.... !!!!

The only time it could have happened was last night. (basically where I park at home it would be impossible to hit me from that side as i park at the end of a row of cars...)

Last night, I took the car out to a friends wedding reception at Moorley Hayes Golf Club near Derby. I didnt notice it last night as it was dark... anyway Im pretty fuming about this.

whats my position..... im probably stuffed unless a witness comes forwards ? I dont want to claim really and lose my NCB.... argggggggg!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear this Jon!

You could claim, but it's probably not worth it. Given that my damage cost ~

Thanks Brian.... it does sound similar to what happened to you....

But, I dont think this can be repaired by normal means... I think i will need a replacement rear, and a new left light cover. It makes me wonder If there is any damage to the wheel alignment as the rear wheel is very close to it and it could have been bumped also.

The mark left is a gouge into the panel... and because its plastic, there are what only can be described as burn or friction scars to the surface of the plastic which has deformed a part of the panel. There is also a lot of scuff marks, and some blue paint scars from the other vehicle. Also the rear light has some damage which looks like a fogged crack where it has been damaged.

Im pretty upset about it. x1000

Ive contacted the golf course and they are going to have a word with security about it to see if there were any witnesses.
Im not holding my breath.

Should I contact the police ?, its on private property so Im not sure its an option.

I'll try to post a pic later........

Jeez, I can't believe people just drive off like that. I've had similar (less serious) bumps and bruises on my various motors in the past. It makes me cross, to say the least.

Some insurance policies have a No Fault, No Fee endorsement. This means that, if your policy has this, you could end up just paying the excess. I'd read the small print in your policy wording.

Hmmm.... whoever it was certainly should have noticed doing that!

My damage wasn't quite so bad, but included a dint in the wing.

As to the light - the back part isn't a cover, its a sealed unit. Have a look at this site under the rear light conversion:

Dewain's Painted Rear Lights

You can quickly get an idea of what a pain it was for him to do. (Does look nice though...)

At Brindley you want to speak to Phil. He'll arange the estimate and deal with you. He's a nice chap. Handled my repair, also the last 2 visits (Engine Check Light, Wiper Problems.)

I don't think the Police can/will do anything.

You can get the estimate easily enough, and then based off the amount, and whether you've found the idiot or not you could decide whether to make an insurance claim or not.

I don't think the Police see it that way though....

You could report it, but I don't think you'll have any luck. Sorry

Jonathan,
Damn sorry to hear that, I'm gutted for you m8
I would report it, even if it was just for peace of mind, you never know, you may be glad you did. For all you know somebody may have been stopped for drink driving 100 yards down the road in a blue car.....long shot but worth your time.

Ask for Phil at Brindley, he will get you back to normal, I have no doubt.

Fingers crossed the bill is low
