Default Remote boot release

For gods sake, can anyone time the second press to release the boot when desired everytime? Is there anyway to reprogramme the key fobs to use a different button combination?

It's really annoying isn't it?

Pete, it is random, and has been posted about a lot before.

People have proposed various techniques and you can read about them all here https://www.s2ki.com/search/forums?query=bo...forum=25&topic=

I find it doesn't work if you've used to since last starting up the car ie. you drive to Tesco, park up, come back and use the remote boot release and it will work. Realise you forgot something and run back in, come back out it will never work.

I find if you unlock and then wait till the lights go out and press the button a fraction after they do it works 90% of the time.

lol this really annoys me too! Always thought it was just me! The misses seems to get it right everytime - really bugs me haha.
I suppose it would be possible to sort out with an aftermarket alarm (?)

Think of those that have smoothed over the bootlock Have to reach in and pull the release 40% of the time

Or those who have the key hole plugs like me - I generally don't bother now just go into the car and release it that way

It's easy and I never had a problem with mine before I replaced the alarm. On 04 and later it has a separate button on the fob.

Willing to give demonstrations at any meets if anyone wants me to show the knack how to on their keyfob
