Removing brake calipers
Just tried to get the front brake caliper off my car(wanted to check the condition as i just had a rear one seize so will be replacing the back two)...removed the two bolts...but the bloody thing wouldn't come off...banged at it a bit...then it started to rain(typical english weather) so had to wrap it up quick... couldn't see anything else holding the caliper on...but it wasnt coming off for love nor money! it did move up and down about an inch but that was it....
Did miss something...(it is only two bolts that hold it on...right?!?!)

It's the first time I did anything mechanical with the car myself this morning.
If you look at my thread which is just a few below this one; "Changing Brake Pads", then you should find all the details you need.
There's a link in there to a full brake pad changing tutorial as well.

They're definitely 12mm.
The bolts round the back holding the bracket on are 17mm. But if you removed those the whole assembly would come loose, which doesn't sound like the case.
Most of the suspension bolts are 17mm. Maybe you undid one of them.
