Maybe you should get one of those full body car covers.
It should help prevent the frost taking hold.

Really deep down, you know you want the Hardtop.... its calling you

N-a-$-t-y - you are a shrewd and perceptive being!!! I WANT A HARDTOP, I NEED A HARD TOP!!!! NOW!!!!!!

However, it isnt going to happen for a little while. I thought about the car cover route, but I thing it will damage the paintwork - the casr will not always be clean despite my best efforts, even a good-fitting cover will flap about a bit in the wind and cause nasty scratches.

I guess, however, a towel over the window, held in place by sliding under the roof around the window cant do any harm???

I've only defrosted the plastic rear window once. (Freak occurance - due to the exposed nature of where I was parked.)

I just used the heater, air con, recirculation, full heat and waited (quite a while...)

You can't use de-icer on the rear window, or scrape - it will damage the window.

So I'm happy I finaly put my hard top back on yesterday.

Hehe- i know, I've struggled with the thought of getting a hardtop too, but then I just had to get one after seeing Brians.

The towel sounds like a good idea...
It could tuck quite neatly around where the rear plastic window is...

Keep a chamois in the house. Soak it in tepid water before going out. Lay it gently on the window and the frost will disappear.

One word of warning. On sunny winter mornings, don't put the roof down until the roof's warmed up..... Barchetta's had a habit of ripping the back screen and I imagine pre-2002's will do the same.

Is your rear window not so screwed that you can't see through it anyway?? What's the point in getting the ice off if you can't see through it anyway?!?!?!?
