Default Removing key scratch

I came out of work today to find out some complete tosser has keyed my drivers door. It's about 20cm long and when my nail catches when i go across it so it's faily deep.

Is there anyone here who can point me in the direction of a bodyshop/ person who has done the same for you? also, what kind of cost am I looking at (if it's possible to approx).

Thanks

Bloody minded vandalism that

You don't say where you are based so suggesting paint shops etc is not going to be very helpful ... please tell us where you are based.

Poor you. Sickening isn't it.

Looks like someone's glanced my car with a handbag as there's a feint but definite line in the paintwork on my front drivers quarter. I'm fairly confident that it will t-cut out but that's not the point!

Makes me so mad when people are thoughtless - doubly so when it's intentional damage for the sake of it.

Feel for you

My advice would be to pm Xd (Tangoman). He's from Hatfield and is well respected on here with regards to advice on brightwork defects.

My thoughts are that if it's dowm through the laquer or paintwork to the base coat nothing is going to remove it.

Makes you want to find these scumbags and slam their fingers in the door of your car.

my bestman had his 12month old RX8 keyed from front wing to rear wing...

cost him £800 for a respray of the whole side of the car.

Any CCTV near you? at least report it to the police. No one reports these things as nothing ever happens, but if everyone reported them, maybe, just maybe they might start to look into it. I stronly suspect it would be a known criminal in the area and they would get nothing for the vandalism to your car, but enough 'minor' offences might one day land them in trouble.

I would report it.

sounds like a door re-spray may be needed tho, couple of hundred quid...

Owen, did you contact Tani?

I would strongly suggest the area is resprayed due to it being in an noticeable position and the difficulty in getting a good colour match on Silver.

I haven't no, I really apreciate the recommendation but it's just too far away from me so it would be difficult to get there/back. Thanks anyway
