Default Replacement Hood

I have recently noticed 2 small tears in my hood due to folding in the corner near the top of the door. Being that I would like to upgrade my roof to the later glass type I wonder if anyone has attempted such a task? Is it possible? I've already managed to get hold of a later style hood from a Breaker at a reasonable price.
As a bonus I already have a Hardtop fitting kit for a hardtop which i've never fitted so should be able to use the wiring in it to link up the heated rear window hopefully.
Many thanks

I can't see why you should not be able to do it yourself. However I believe that there is some sewing required. to fit the hood. Do you have the complete assembly from the breaker with the hood and the frame?
If in doubt go to a soft top specialist (lots listed on here) and get a price for them to fit it.
As you say this is a great opportunity to fit the hard top fitting kit while the hood os off the car.
The workshop manual does give full details of how to fix the hood and there is an instuctional .pdf on the main formum that tells you how to do the GT conversion.

If I remember correctly little Chris did this to his car. But you do need to change the frame too as it's different for the glass roof. Do a search for his posts and you should find it

It is difficult to do yourself.

There are a number of rivets that have to be drilled out and replaced and removing and replacing the hood on the frame is a PITA.

If the replacement hood is on a frame it will be a lot easier to fit. If you need to fit the hood onto the existing frame you need to make a modification, with elastic, to get it to fold correctly.

You can easily wire the hood into the same wiring for the hardtop but again you need to make a little mod as the rear heated window will not work unless it thinks the hardtop is on the car.

I paid my local Honda dealer to install my roof.
