I don't have one on mine.
I quite like the fact it's an X plate showing the age cos the car is in great condition.
People always assume it's a fairly new car with a private plate and ask me what the initials stand for.... They stand for the fact it's an X reg.
I wouldn't have one personally but what people spend their own hard earned on is entirely up to them.

Mine too is not car specific but only predates the cars MY by four years so as the S2000 was in production in 2001 and my car is a MY05 it makes a good talking point!
When I eventually sell the S the plate will be transfered to the vehicle that I replace it with. (But that won't be for many years yet - As I adore the S2000).

On a different topic, a mate of mine saw a guy driving in a F430 in London with number plate "NOT 1". Two cars behind him was another F430 with plate "BUT 2"

Because a Ferrari or Lambo engine needs a private plate to gain peak performance, whereas the S2000's does not? Right?
I've thought about getting one, but there isn't one available that I'd really want. Plus I'd rather spend the money on handling/performance mods.

If I had the cash to buy either of those cars then I would easily have the money to buy a plate and also I would rather not show the year the car was registered. It could also be a bit of an investment.
