Default Ricks Voodoo shift knob

Im just wondering how many of you have gone for Ricks Voodoo shift knob and how it compares to the Muz one? Ricks one appeals to me a bit more due to the custom engraving option... does anyone have pics of their custom designs they'd like to show? It would be good to see the quality of the work aswell.

I've got the pearlescent one to match the interior trim in an 05.

I didn't get it etched (because I know where the gear are and ) I was worried that is wouldn't align straight without faffing on with spacers/ptfe tape. Ricks dont have locking nut or screw (like Muz's)

Personally I like Ricks.... It sits really low and I like the feel

Both Jo (Dreamer) and I have custom ones from Rick's and the quality is awesome. mine even features on their website. Below are some of the pics. Now they come unpainted but the lacquer mask remains (the red / black coating on mine) when delivered so painting with enamol spray paint is easy.

Mine :

Pre-painting, straight out of the box

After several coats of paint and left on the coffee table for that arty Parisian look

In situ in the car

Jo's (The kanji literally means one who dreams i.e. Dreamer)

The nicest thing about Rick's was the fact that you are kept up to date all the way through the manufacturing process and his customer service is awesome.

definitely someone that would see some of my money again.

Be careful with your designs -if it is too large you won't fit it on the top and you may have to go for the larger size knob as it gives a "flatter" (i.e. wider, less curved) surface to engrave.

I bought Pink Lady a custom engraved knob from Rick's for her birthday - I think Fletch may have a photo of it.

Agreed that it was the first and that there have been some pale imitations since then

Good to hear

So how does the knob feel in practice? Which gives the better shift feel, Muz or Rick's? Im swaying towards Ricks purely because of the custom engraving
