Default Rolling Road

There was a very good turnout of 9 S2000s at todays Piston Heads rolling road day at Lorven Performance, near Ipswich.

Five of us put our cars on the road and the results were ...... interesting to say the least.

I was on first and the results for my car were as follows:

Speed: 83 mph @ 8451 rpm
Power: 231.0 Hp @ 8451 rpm
Torque: 148 ft-lbs @ 6628 rpm

Drag was estimated at 32 hp. The rear wheel horsepower + the drag was used to give the flywheel power estimate above meaning that rear wheel power was measured at 199 Hp.

The guy said afterwards that the flywheel bhp figure would be underestimated by around 15 Hp, but as this is an estimate the only meaningful figure is the rear wheel output.

A 2.5 Boxter that followed had an estimated flywheel reading of 196 Hp and a 205 1.9Gti at 115 Hp and both of these figures are quite a bit under the quoted output.

Second Run AVI (~ 3MB)

I'll let the other guys tell you how they got on ........

Surprising results given the mods that you have?

(Car sounds good though )

Not really! A standard car produces around 190 Hp at the rear wheel.

It would have been good to have had a standard car on the Dyno to allow us to make a comparison but Fraser's car was closest to standard and I left before his run

Steven

I don't know what i have done to offend you, but ever since i started a keyring groupbuy, you have done nothing but slate me, swipe at me, snipe at me and generally act like a child at every possible opportunity towards me. This has got to the point where i am not bothering with this forum anymore. I will be concluding the keyring purchase, but apart form that i have given up contributing or posting because it is just not worth the childish hassle i am getting from you.

This is probably the kind of response you have wanted to goad out of me, but i just don't need this in my life right now. At the recent mini Bristol meet I attended, everybody who had read your posts against me said what a pathetic idiot you were being, but that you aren't normally like that. Perhaps you are not like it normally, but looking at your contribution to this forum, i can't see how. You constantly pop up with one liners which have no relevance to the threads and are just argumentative and goading.

I am a very thick skinned person and can give as good as i get, but owing to your contributions against me, I just can't be bothered anymore. You have managed to ruin for me what has been a good 12 months on here.

FYI, the 246.9bhp i got on the rollers is not BS and is backed up fully by a printed dynoplot from one of the countries most respected tuners.

I'm sorry to the other members of the forum for having to put this in a thread, but the above snipe was the last straw.

Like i said Steven, perhaps this is the kind of reaction you were hoping to goad out of me, and if it is, well done, you have succeeded in driving me away. And all because i started a thread selling something which you didn't approve of.

Another worthwhile contribution to one of my threads. Just like my RR thread you commented on.
Remember that comment?

All I asked was what was the rear wheel horsepower .....and I wasn't the only one to ask this.

You obviously didn't like me questioning your results.

If you had posted your rolling road thread on the 'Under the Hood' forum the first question you would have been asked was 'what was the power measured at the rear wheels' cause anything else is just a guess.

It was a *very* worthwhile comment

It was nice to meet everyone today and put faces to names
Thanks for the good turnout.

I was a little disappointed with my figures, mine were:

Speed... 85@8909 rpm
Power... 237.9@8755 rpm
Torque... 147@6587 rpm
Drag... 38@8755 rpm

Mods are:
Mugen exhaust manifold.
Mugen exhaust.
Decat.
Mugen ECU.
Hondata inlet manifold.
Spoon 70mm throttle body.
Mugen Fan switch.
Mugen thermostat.

I put my high drag figures down to my rear spoiler

We went back there after the pub for a burger and hotdog

I was a bit happier with my figures after watching the red 4.3 TVR have a go on the rollers, his power was something like 225@6100 with some overfueling problems, his torque was nice at over 300.

I got a bottle of that Miller booster stuff that Chris was running, well the next one up for cars running decats, he said that can add 8hp
I'll stick that in tomorrow for Santapod to see if it makes much difference.
