Default S2000 Battery Price

The cold is kicking in, and my battery has died a death!

Tried using my battery optimiser to bring it back but alas, it's past the point of no return.

Just been quoted a price of £38 from Halfords, anyone bought one cheaper? Honda are after £63.

Many thanks, Chris

Good price, resonable battery, make sure they sell you the one with the terminals right way round.

EDIT, The one they quote for the S2000 is £69.99 (HB057) if this is the one they quoted you for snap it up as the on line price is double.

Sounds like they are quoting you for a bike battery!

If I was paying that much I would get the Varta D48.

Check the Honda price also. There are two batteries for the S, one for the pre 04 cars and one for the 04 on. Make sure they quote you the right one, I paid £48 for my (pre 04) battery from a stealer.

The one from halfords has the terminals the 'wrong' way around so it takes a few beers and a bit of bad language to make it fit... i think it was around £25 with a trade card though so worth the agro !

You might as well buy a Bosch S4005 battery. Terminals are wrong way around but if you turn the battery 180 degrees then it will fit but tight. Most powerful battery I could find - cold cranking amps is rated at 560A with 60AH value. Halfords is only 330cca.

Edit - same power as the Varta D48 but it isn'tas tall so should be easier to fit the terminals.

The quoted price was with a Halfords trade card.

Cheapest I can find the Bosch is £60

Think I'll take a bimble to Halfords and take my chances with wedging it in 180 degrees the wrong way!

I got stranded at work tonight - it has been dying a death for ages now, to be fair.

Nearest dealer is about 40 mins way and I can't get there during the day so picked one up from a local motor factors (I like supporting the independents anyway, to be fair).

56 ex vat which I didn't think was too bad. It was 79 last time I looked in Halfords!
