I always keep an eye on Honest John's website.
He gives a regular report on auction prices, anyway 1st time I've seen an s2k go through:

we have to rely on that Honest John figure, which does seem on the high side to me
I should be able to check it
otoh an S2000 is a rare sight at auction, which might promote interest and competition

When i was looking for a Volvo S60 D5 earlier in the year , i decided to go to Blackbushe and pick up a bargain.
No way , cars were going for higher money than Autotrader , anything that seems to be in demand appears to fetch very good money

Can you put a reserve on though?
I have to say that auctions are really for the trade
I'd say (based on experience) that a minimum of one in ten cars is sold there to conceal a very serious problem
the trade can accept this percentage, because the other nine cars are sold at sufficient profit to outweigh the one hit
but an occasional private punter will eventually come unstuck and may have to accept the hit without any prospect of offsetting it
