hopefully i can grab them lights for good money, if not found some second hand for about 300 quid the pair.

i bought the car smashed, from an auction site im a member of, loads of insurance write offs, so it is classed as a cat d, but not a big problem, normally reduces the cars value by 10 to 15 %

the car needed all airbags and belts, headlights, bumper, bonnet, rads, coolant pipes, condensor bottle, x member, slam panels and lots of stupid clips, my mates a panel beater and hes done most of the work, ive just hunted the bits out, the car cost 7k its a 52 plate gt in silverstone silver, black dash red leather seats, its done 19k, all in without the lamps its cost me 3800 to repair so another 500 and we will be done i hope, a cheap s2000 for a lot of work, but the first time i drive it im sure it will be worth it, 11 and a bit grand for a 52 plate, cant be beat and its no different to a car that had not been damaged

Doesn't sound that bad, is it definetly recorded as CAT D? any pics before and after?
Mine had quite bad damage (I spun it) but my understanding is CAT D means beyond eco repair..
Well done mate anyway, welcome to S2k land

keep on your panel beater mate's good side

will have some pics b4 n after soon, definetly cat d as the site only sells them recorded, catd d's are more often than not cars that are refused by their owners after they are crashed, cat c is more serious when the cost of repairs is more than the value of the car or more serious damage (chassi and safety in question) cat b is not worth looking at and are broken for spares or completely scrapped. cat x are stolen recovered. but as always there are exceptions, some cars are stolen and stripped and become cat c or d.

my panel beater is always on my good side, the amount of work he gets given keeps his kids in shoes and sweets.

just interested to know.......

when you buy a bent up car, will it ever drive the same?

will all the alignment etc be so seriously out that to put it right will cost more than the cars worth?

are you at a loss if the chassis is bent?

ive had loads of 'bent' cars, but only pick ones with panel damage and not chassis, normally if u do it all right then the differences is not noticable, if u bodge it then yes they can roll and drive like poo
