S2000 last serviced 2010......should I buy?
Hi Guys,
I am going to look at an S2000, 2007 with 33000 miles, on Saturday. It has a full Honda service up to 2010 at 33000 miles. It hasn't been serviced nor driven, covered a couple hundred miles since the last service. I presume its been in storage for 4 years and has come out for sale. It will be Honda serviced and MOT'd before I get it. It comes with a very, very comprehensive warranty.
What do you think? Should I run a mile from this or could it be a good buy? Or will the fact that it has sat for 4 years cause problems down the line?
cheers
Gary

If it's only done a few miles since 2010 and gets a full honda service (plugs, valves, all fluids - oil, coolant, brake and clutch, gearbox, diff)- it will be fine.
Also check the calipers haven't stuck and that the suspension bolts are free ( ie not seized )
if is from a Honda dealer, get them to throw in an extended warranty as well.

Depends on the price - how much is it?
My experience of buying cars is that ones with higher mileage used every day are better than ones with low mileage sat around doing nothing, cars are meant to be driven.
I wouldn't buy another garage queen again unless it was something really special and expensive.

It's on at £10k......just found out it has a tear in the roof above the drivers head...A comon fault I think. The thing that is confusing me is that it has been constantly MOT'd ..... but not serviced. It's starting to look a bit fishy to me. Also has excessive wear on the drivers seat, so I am beginning to wonder how genuine the miles are.
I cannot believe how hard I'm finding it yo get a decent, genuine S2000, I've got 10k sitting and just can't spend it.

Low mileage between MOTs is not of itself a problem. For 2 years on the trot, my motorbike did barely 200 miles each year...
Does it have an HPI check?
Any change of owners during between 2010 and now?
You can check the mileage between MOTs online...and the tax history...
But if in doubt walk away...
There was a nice one 2009 model on www.s2kuk.com but at nearer £15k...
