Davey,
Have a read of the FAQ, it's one of the Stickies on this forum - you will learn loads.
As eSeM said, the car you're looking at has around average miles on it for its age. You will find cars with lower mileage as many people do what you intend to and drive around 4k miles per year. An 05 driven this way would have around 40k miles on it by now.
My car is on 128k miles now, including 40-50 track days.
I've had to change/refresh many parts - brake callipers (£100s), timing chain, tensioner and guides (£1,000), fuel tank rusted (£100s), brake lines corroded (£100s), clutch (£100s)
I've also done a fair few "optional" things - 2nd hand gearbox, shocks and springs, suspension arms, engine mounts, gearbox mounts, diff mounts.
So, apart from the timing chain, the engine has remained untouched and is still going strong.
To get from your 70k to my 128k at 4k miles per year would take around 14 years, so you are probably ok. In fact, rust is more likely to be a bigger problem.

Dembo, PaulF (x2), AquilaEagle, plus many others... that's not even taking into account the MY09s either...
The Yanks have demonstrated that the engines can do a couple of hundred thousand miles if correctly looked after, but saying they go on forever is, in my opinion, an inaccurate claim; preventative maintenance will only achieve so much too.
ATEOTD though, we buy cars like these to drive and deal with the consequences of failure if/when it occurs.

The first failure was a piston ring related issue with the No.4 piston at 82k miles and the second was a catastrophic engine-wide failure from top to bottom at 65k miles (thanks for reminding me about those mate ), so no these engines don't go on for ever; they are fallible. That said I know of a number of cars that are on 150k plus and still pull like trains.
They have a 300k mile club on the USA forum.
would fail if incorrectly maintained in its life <does not mean stamps from dealers either>that means jack sh1t..
low oil seems to be not good for these 9k rpm engine, add fast cornering to this and you gonna have issues, as with any engine

Absolutly the best and fastest colour for an S2000, not just a head turner but also a babe magnet, you will find people worshiping the ground you tread and drive on. And will never be accused of it being a hairdressers car, unlike the other more gay colours.

Thank you for the information.
I am still unsure on the silverstone metallic is this a common colour or is it a nice head turner car?

Colours on the S are a very subjective issue, most have a nickname (Ladyboy Blue, Battleship Grey, Old Man Blue, Pensioner Blue etc.) and every owner thinks they're colour choice is the best by a mile (they are all WRONG BTW, unless they have a Pensioner Blue... Sorry, RNBP). In reality, there is no such thing as an ugly S2000 so care less about what others think of the colour and enjoy your choice
