This question should be posted in the main S2000 forum rather than the "UK Car Talk non-S2000" mate.

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/forum/25-uk-s2000-community/

AFAIK remapping an S2000 is pretty much pointless same as any N/A car as only very small gains will be seen if any (I may be wrong and stand ready to be corrected but I'm pretty sure I'm right).

Not sure about a vtec controller.

Gains to be had.

I think AJ netted 10 peak bhp and upto 15 at points beyond 6000rpm.

For £600 (device and mapping), that's not bad at all.

Made good gains per £ with the vafc2 with I/M/E bolt on's though.

Not a bad product just read posts by me before you buy one, as you need to know about how they work etc/downfalls.

Vtec controllers on there own are a complete waste of money.

If you're on about it on an EP3 then that doesn't surprise me as they're designed for old school VTEC and not iVTEC engines.

Ive spoken to AJ quite a bit about these and he said they are worth the money and he seems to know his stuff. The trouble is knowing which one to go for - APEXi VAFC, VAFC2 or VAFC Neo as I can't see much difference in them but probably don't know enough about them...

They can be had cheap enough on eBay but it looks like buying the Boomslang PnP harness to plug it into the ECU is the way forward.

Neo, because it has more adjustment points so better scope/smoother tune.

Just remember what i told you about e.g partial throttle, vtec zone, altering ignition timing inadvertently etc etc

They are resonably good product to bring the AFR in line, if you dont want to spend loads of dosh and dont want to chase every last bhp.

I would not recommend them for F/I full stop.

Mine was fitted to my old EK9 which had a B16B engine in it. I had it set up correctly, and i did not give any noticeable gains, apart from being able to increase the vtec crossover point meaning you can cruise along at a speed that would normally mean vtec was engaged saving fuel.

Did you have a dyno plot and bolt on's Alex?

My mate has an EK9 with a 5zigen manifold, mugen intake, decat and some aftermarket exhaust think its making 190BHP. The AFR is in the high to mid 12's at the moment some some scope. He has bought a neo but I told him to get chrome or hondata and I'd tune it for him, but it looks like I'll be doing the neo for him.

They are little rocket ships those ek9's for a 1.6L! embarsses a lot of cars!, look smart too.

I love the EK9

AJ, what sort of ballpark figure do you think I'd be looking at to get a VAFC set up properly? Just looking into the full outlay before I head down that road.

Cheers
