This.

In fact, in my opinion, getting an OEM car mapped will give you the best BHP/£ return this side of FI.

Obviosuly you'd get an even better return if you improve the breathing first.

Ballpark in terms of what? It took me just over an hour to tune mine.

Sorry, I meant in terms of needing to get someone to map it properly for me once I get it?

Sounds like it'll be beneficial with my K&N, decat and buddyclub so it'd be nice to have a fe extra HP

That really depends on how much someone wants to charge, some tuners charge as little as £45-50 an hour others £60-70 an hour from what i know of.

IMO its more expensive down south as compared to the far superior region known as 'up narf'

If your not wanting to spend loads but still want a good tune a GEMU is a far better device than a VAFC2, but the VAFC2 aint bad. VAFC2 is map based tuning, the GEMU direct control of the injectors. And a standalone is a better device than a GEMU

AFAIK remapping an S2000 is pretty much pointless same as any N/A car as only very small gains will be seen if any (I may be wrong and stand ready to be corrected but I'm pretty sure I'm right).

Not sure about a vtec controller.
I have some graphs which show some huge increases through the rev range and over 20bhp peak.

Cost a lot though.

Someone mentioned a Vtec controller, has anyone had one fitted/ recommend a place in the midlands?

VTEC controller is fairly pointless in its own. You will have to spend a fair bit on the 'right' breathing mods and select a decent method of altering your fuelling and ignition to get noticeable power.

Hi I've had good success with a greddy emanage ultimate but I won't use a blue though.

It's far better device, faster hardware etc. The blue uses a shirty way of changing injector duty cycle using map sensor and direct control, ultimate does it the proper way. It's limited to 650cc Iirc and I don't think ignition timing is as good.
