Default S2000 vs CTR

Dont know if this has been discussed before or not but earlier I was following the lady back home, I had a distinct feeling she was giving it some but not full on. Anyway we've had this discussion many times before so to settle a potential domestic which one would be faster point to point........ MY00 S2 or MY02 CTR?

Oh god, not this one again.

A decently driven S will destroy a decently driven CTR in the dry. In the wet the S driver has to be much better than the CTR driver.

Either way, WGAF, they're completely different cars.

Actually I was quite surprised recently, on a long stretch of dual carriageway I hoofed my S2000, and found a pair of headlights very close in my rear view mirror all the way up the road (a good 2 miles), it couldn't pass, but when I slowed it was a CTR.

It could have had a few mods, because it had a big exhaust etc, but it wasn't that far behind.

Stock for stock the S2000 is a little bit faster but you really need to stretch her above 100mph to start to open up any sort of lead you'd be happy about. This off course assumes you both started on a roll. Down 1/4er mile track or off the line the S2000 is much quicker if both cars are launched well.

If you were both rolling in 1st with the S2000 a metre or so off the CTR's rear bumper at 20mph you'd probably be over 120mph before you'd be past and safely back in. From 120-140 you should be able to pull another 3-6 car lengths. All in all pretty tight.

Had a head-to-head with a new Civic Type R on the way to this week's Bristol Meet - I was amazed at how quick it actually was.

Both driving hard, and I couldn't gain *anything* on the Type R - in fact judging how close the headlights were behind me, he was gaining on me.

Very impressive!

I had a run with a CTR on the A1M a few weeks back and I was easily able to pull a few car lengths on him.

They respond well to breathing mods, so if you come up against a modded one they will be quite similar in straight-line performance.
