Having come to the S from two ctr's I find that at the moment I was quicker in the civic,e.g. out of a roundabout I could plant the throttle and let the front wheels sort themselves out, not such a good idea in the S, oops backwards?, I find the S more composed over the not so smooth british roads, but find it wont pull from lower revs as good as the civic, although both my civics were modded in the induction/exhaust manner.
Loved the civics, but,.................... I couldn't take the roof down, so on that basis, screw who's faster, what's more enjoyable.?
Must get used to another 1k revs.

After chopping the ctr for an s2k recently I just had the chance to give it a real go, my mate has just picked up a 6.0 monaro, and we went for a blat around some of the local lanes.
The "S" is so much more stable not hopping from bump to bump and it's easier to put the traction down (once its pointing in the right direction).
The brakes feel so much positive(although the abs seems more intrusive) even though they use the same stuff.
Steering feel! wow, I've got some, now I know which way the wheels are pointing.
BTW. The big v8 pulled away from me out of the bends using its huge amount of torque, but once I got the revs built up I was able to reel it in and under braking close right up its ass, but i really loved that exhaust note coming back into my face, although the continentals on it produced a lot of road noise.
So happy we went for the S2k over the new civic.

And you now have a pebble dashed front bumper

Those Monaro's kick up a huge amount of debris!

Ha, checked for that, lucky so far, but the car is a subtle mud brown shade from all the dust flying, next time I'll take the lead.
