Default s2k 05 engine difference's to the 99 ap1 engine

hey folks am i right in saying the only difference's from the 99 engine to the 2005+ is the crank and cam trigger wheels ! i will be using all my original 99 inlet manifold so throttle issues are fine , all sensors off 99 , 99 ecu ect just using the bare block only , i looked in the technichal forum and it says the newer engine has 1 cam sensor ,does this mean the earlier models have more !
sorry in advance if there is any posts been made the same just there is alot of different views and dont know wich is correct, thanks
