There is a Reading meet.

And a number of us live quite nearby and could be tempted to give you a pax ride.

Ghost,
As well as fuel consumption, I'd consider the S2000's all weather useability. If you're getting rid of both cars you won't have a fallback in the event of another winter like we've just had! Have a look back at the number of write-offs listed in this forum - standing water and snow don't make the s2000 an enjoyable drive for me. I love mine in the dry but perfer to take a Mondeo when its wet. Standing by to be told to learn how to drive it properly.

Just get winter tyres.

Obligatory in many continental countries.

Will check out the meets Work in Newbury so down there every day mon-fri, just spotted Maidenhead Honda have a S2000 in so may give them a call shortly to see if i can pop down for a test drive as am visiting a friend in reading tonight anyway

Re: weather usability - i'm very fortunate in that my job is very flexible and in snow etc i have the option to work from home. Have had 4 MK2 MR2's in the past (3 turbos and 1 non) as daily drivers for a couple of years and the RX7 was a daily driver from Dec>Jun last year so have a fair bit of experience in RWD cars (though dont get me wrong i'm not trying to come across as arrogant here, just conveying that i appreciate how much respect they need to be shown)

Just thought i 'd update this, had a look at a few S2000's now and test driven one (the downside of having a shed runabout is that some garages not keen on letting you have a drive).

Overall feels a little cramped inside compared to the RX7 but then i think its roomier in other ways.

Didnt get a chance to push the handling but felt quite good considering it was completely stock setup compared to the RX7's track focused setup. In gear acceleration was very much lacking but then thats how it delivers decentish fuel economy lower down the revs but still quite fun at the top end. Certainly no turbo kick but not exactly a slouch either.

Have made my decision now though and the search now starts for a early S2000 in my price range and the RX7 is up for sale on pistonheads (cheeky plug http://pistonheads.com/sales/1636660.htm ) however appreciate with my budget being on the tighter end i'll probably be shopping around for a while

Also one final point this forum really is a good resource, and will definately be continuing to post on here. Might even try make it to a meet even if i'm still in the RX7 at the time
