The Honda alarm is shit, and the engines blow up if you don't put oil in them. Worn suspension bushes mean a couple of grand to fix properly, and they are garbage in standing water above 60mph.

That (generally) is all you see on them though.

i was unlucky with mine. had it 6 months and blew the engine but at least it was at 8k rpm and being driven how it was meant

at the time it was annoying and its a bit of a pisser I need a new engine at a time when they are far more expensive now than they were 6 months ago but on the up side soon i'll have a low milage mechanicals and will keep the car a couple more year.

wouldnt put me off getting another as my work mate spends about 1500 a year absolute minimum keeping his simialr vintage boxter on the road

Like many on here (perhaps?), it was a toss-up between the S2k and Boxster S.

Once the numbers are run (without even listening to the stories about engine failure/complex electronics going) the decision to me seemed like a no-brainer.....

Let's not go there, but the little Saxo I had before was happy at over 100mph on the same stretches of road that the S2K's LSD tried to kill me at. The Lotus now is just as happy, although now the tread is wearing a bit thinner on the rear's I'm a bit more cautious after the way the S behaved.

Oh, and this one.

FFS you whinging Gits heres a run down:

1. We are on our second and they have both been great without any major problems or issues. Its a daily driver and we have done more S miles than most! ;-) (maybe not AE! )

2. Drive like a tit in the wet and it will try to kill you.

END OF CASE CLOSED.

You may find that your Lotus/Toyota engine may also blow up if you don't put oil in it. Funny that!

I think that other than the bushes the cars seem to be sound; most things are niggles, irritations, unusual things etc.

I am just vocal about things that most people probably wouldn't even notice in their car

Having said that I think build quality dropped (whether its come back again I don't know) - certainly Kelk's MY00 model creaked and rattled and broke a lot less than my 55 plate!

Yep, true. Was just rhyming off the things that regularly go wrong with the car.
